I build things.
I break things.
I sklarp.

I'm Robin Reitsma aka SKLARP. An AI researcher with a practical engineering mindset. My Masters' thesis applies deep learning to dynamic MRI reconstruction at Amsterdam UMC. Outside research I write infrastructure that keeps running after the laptop lid closes, and once in a while I do something completely off the grid.

heads up: the thing below is a tiny local AI tweaked to sound like me. it will hallucinate, get facts wrong, and confidently say nonsense. use at your own risk — and don't quote it back to me.

PROFILE SNAPSHOT

Research-minded, engineering-oriented, and comfortable in the messy middle.

Technical core

  • MSc Artificial Intelligence with a focus on deep learning, computer vision and medical imaging
  • Experienced at turning research questions into reproducible experiments with clean, maintainable code
  • Comfortable across the full stack: Python, PyTorch, Docker, Linux, nginx, HTML/CSS/JS, and SQL
  • Self-hosting practitioner — DNS, containers, reverse proxies, and keeping things up at 3am

How I like to work

  • Start from the problem, then make the technical choices explicit and auditable
  • Prefer small, understandable systems over opaque magic — name things well, document the why
  • Care about presentation: if something is hard to explain, the design probably isn't done yet
  • Teaching physics sharpened how I communicate complex ideas without losing rigour

Wine, music & Camino

A separate space for the personal layer: natural wine notes, guitar thoughts, and what it was like to walk 800km across Spain earlier this year.
